The Latest Watch News from SIHH 2019
For the last 28 years, the SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie) has taken place in Geneva Switzerland. From January 14th to 17th 2019 we are seeing the 29th edition of this very prestigious watch show.
In previous years it was not open to the public or only in a very limited fashion. This year, the second half of the last day is open to the public and tickets can be purchased online for the small contribution of CHF 70.Click Here
Probably the biggest news comes from Audemars Piguet, who has launched and an entirely new line of 41mm watches under the name CODE 11.59. This could be the most important launch for the company in over 40 years. These new watches are indeed stunning pieces that are now being offered in four classical, automatic styles as well as four chronograph styles and five more complicated pieces. There is quite a bit of innovation in these pieces as the glass is shaped in a way that we have never seen before, giving the wearer an optimal view of the time display from multiple angles.

Furthermore, Audemars has strayed from the octogonal case shape and has opted for a round one on this collection. However, the octogonal shape is present on a lower level and other elements on the watch, giving it a very interesting depth from numerous angles when looking at the watch(es).
Audemars Piguet will no longer be displaying its pieces at SIHH, at least not next year. Since the Salon is already limited, the departure of Audemars Piguet is a big blow to this prestigious luxury watch show. It remains to be seen, where Audemars Piguet will show its new timepieces in the near future but the brand has such an strong following that it has a lot more freedom than others in the industry.
Like every year, there are numerous novelties at the SIHH and that’s not different this year. So far we have seen impressive new pieces from Vacheron Constantin, giving us a Tourbillion for the first time in the Overseas collection. Panerai shows us the Submersicle Carbotech or the Luna Rossa Challenger Submersible Carbotech and IWC brings us the new Top Gun Line with innovative case materials, in time for the sequel of the Hollywood Blockbuster... There are many more novelties worth writing about but we’ll leave that to the specialized press.
There is a lot of movement in the watch industry as many brands are competing for the attention of consumers but the top companies are not resting on their laurels. We are always happy to help our clients to find the right pieces for their collection and cordially invite you to reach out to us if you are looking for something unique, special, sold out or seemingly impossible to get. We‘ll gladly use all our resources to get you what you want and deserve.
