Long-Range Private Jets: Which Fly the Longest Routes Non-Stop
Updated 18 October 2026
In October 2026 the longest-range purpose-built business jets in service are the Gulfstream G800 and the Bombardier Global 8000, which their makers rate at 8,200 and 8,000 nautical miles, as theoretical ranges with eight passengers. The G700 (7,750) and Global 7500 (7,700) follow; Dassault's Falcon 10X (7,500) first flew in June 2026, the start of a two-year certification programme. On our own great-circle calculation, only the G800 and Global 8000 have a 10 per cent margin on Dubai to Los Angeles.
Which business jets have the longest range in 2026?
The table ranks long-range business jets and narrowbody bizliners, the airliner-based jets that Airbus and Boeing sell for private use, by the range their manufacturers publish.
| Aircraft | Manufacturer's range (nm) | Entry into service | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gulfstream G800 | 8,200 | August 2025 (first delivery) | General Dynamics |
| Bombardier Global 8000 | 8,000 | December 2025 | Bombardier |
| Gulfstream G700 | 7,750 | 2024 | Gulfstream, General Dynamics |
| Bombardier Global 7500 | 7,700 | December 2018 | Bombardier |
| Dassault Falcon 10X | 7,500 | Not yet; first flight 19 June 2026 | Dassault Falcon |
| Airbus ACJ319neo | 6,750 | 2020 | Airbus Corporate Jets, ACJ319neo D-ANEO |
| Boeing BBJ 737-7 | 6,600 | 737-7 certified 3 August 2026 | Boeing, May 2023, Boeing, August 2026 |
| Dassault Falcon 8X | 6,450 | October 2016 | Dassault Falcon |
| Airbus ACJ320neo | 6,000 | January 2019 (first delivery) | Airbus Corporate Jets |
| Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty | 5,650 | 2023 | Airbus Corporate Jets |
Four of these aircraft have changed status since August 2025. Gulfstream delivered the first G800 that month; it replaces the G650 family, of which more than 595 are in service, says General Dynamics, Gulfstream's parent. The Global 8000 received Transport Canada type certification on 5 November 2025 and entered service in December, followed by FAA certification on 19 December and EASA certification in January 2026. Dassault rolled out the Falcon 10X on 10 March 2026 and flew it on 19 June (Dassault Falcon), and the first flight began a two-year certification programme. The 737-7, basis of the BBJ 737-7, was certified by the FAA on 3 August 2026.
Widebody bizliners fly further still: Airbus quotes 11,100 nm for the ACJ350 and Boeing up to 9,960 nm for the BBJ 787, both with 25 passengers. The BBJ 777X (11,000 nm) waits for the 777-9, whose first delivery Boeing plans for 2027.

What do the published range figures assume?
Most assume eight passengers. Gulfstream and Bombardier give theoretical ranges at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers, four crew and NBAA IFR fuel reserves, and both say that speed, weather and cabin options change the real figure (Gulfstream, Bombardier). Dassault quotes the 10X on the same basis and the Falcon 8X at Mach 0.80 with three crew, both with zero wind (Falcon 10X, Falcon 8X). The reserves are already deducted, so no figure is the distance to empty tanks. Speed costs range: at Mach 0.90, Gulfstream rates the G800 at 7,000 nm and the G700 at 6,650 nm.
Bizliner figures are built differently. Airbus gives the ACJ319neo 6,750 nm (Airbus Corporate Jets) and the ACJ320neo 6,000 nm, both with eight passengers, and states no load for the ACJ TwoTwenty's 5,650 nm. Boeing quotes 6,600 nm for the BBJ 737-7 (Boeing) and draws its BBJ 737 MAX route maps with eight passengers, 50 per cent annual winds and a 3 per cent airways allowance (BBJ 737 MAX). Individual aircraft differ too: Airbus lists the ACJ319neo D-ANEO, a K5-Aviation charter aircraft, at 6,300 nm.
Which aircraft fly the long routes from Zurich, Dubai and Hong Kong non-stop?
We tested four routes on great-circle distances, the shortest path over the Earth's surface, without wind or routing. A route counts as within range only where the manufacturer's figure exceeds the distance by at least 10 per cent; below that it is marginal. The 10 per cent is our own rule of thumb: headwinds, airways, detours and any load above eight passengers all change the result on the day.
- Zurich to Hong Kong, 5,011 nm. Within range of every aircraft in the table, the ACJ TwoTwenty included, with 13 per cent in hand.
- Dubai to New York (JFK), 5,940 nm. Within range of the G800, Global 8000, G700, Global 7500 and Falcon 10X, the ACJ319neo (14 per cent) and the BBJ 737-7 (11 per cent); marginal for the Falcon 8X (9 per cent) and the ACJ320neo (1 per cent); beyond the ACJ TwoTwenty.
- Hong Kong to New York (JFK), 7,003 nm. Within range of the G800 (17 per cent), the Global 8000 (14 per cent) and the G700 (11 per cent). The Global 7500 sits on the line, just under 10 per cent to JFK and just over to Teterboro. Dassault lists the route among the Falcon 10X's city pairs at Mach 0.85 and draws its range map with 85 per cent annual wind reliability; on our rule it is marginal, at 7 per cent. No narrowbody bizliner reaches it.
- Dubai to Los Angeles, 7,235 nm. Only the G800 (13 per cent) and the Global 8000 (11 per cent) clear the margin. The G700, Global 7500 and Falcon 10X, at 7, 6 and 4 per cent, are marginal.
Plotted on the great circle, three of the four routes cross airspace that EASA, in October 2026, advises operators under EU rules to avoid. Both Dubai routes cross Iran, and Dubai to New York also Iraq (EASA bulletins on Iran and Iraq). Dubai to New York and Zurich to Hong Kong cross Ukraine, closed to civil flights, and Zurich to Hong Kong also Belarus, where EASA safety directives prohibit operations (EASA on Ukraine); Zurich to Hong Kong and Dubai to Los Angeles cross Russia west of 60 degrees East (EASA on Russia). EASA also advises against the airspace over the waters of the Persian Gulf beyond what arrivals and departures need (EASA on the Persian Gulf). Every detour comes off the margin, and whether an aircraft may fly the Hong Kong to New York great circle, over Siberia, is a question of overflight permission for the operator.

Ultra-long-range jet or bizliner: what changes in the cabin and on the ground?
Space is the bizliner's case. Airbus gives the ACJ320neo a cabin 27.74 metres long and 3.7 metres wide, and Boeing says the BBJ 737 MAX has more than twice the cabin volume of traditional long-range business jets. Among the business jets in the table, the G700 has the longest cabin, 17.35 metres, and the Falcon 10X will have the widest, 2.77 metres.
The business jets answer with cabin pressure. At 41,000 feet the Global 8000 holds a cabin altitude of 2,691 feet, the G800 and G700 2,840 feet and the Falcon 10X 3,000 feet, while Boeing gives 6,500 feet for the BBJ 737 MAX at the same height. Dassault and Boeing both link a lower cabin altitude with less fatigue. Gulfstream says the G700 sleeps up to 13 and the G800 up to 10.
On the ground, the Global 8000, G800 and G700 take off in 5,760, 5,812 and 5,995 feet at maximum weight, sea level and standard temperature, and the Falcon 10X in less than 6,000. Dassault says the Falcon 8X can serve London City, and the UK Civil Aviation Authority approved the Global 8000 to land there in September 2026. Boeing builds airstairs into every BBJ 737 MAX and designs its holds to be loaded without ground equipment, for airports with limited ground support (Boeing).

How is a twelve-hour flight crewed?
Crew rules set a second limit. Under the US rules for on-demand charter, two pilots may fly no more than 10 hours in any 24 hours (14 CFR 135.267); a three-pilot crew may be aloft for up to 12 hours and a four-pilot crew for up to 16, with adequate sleeping facilities on board for the relief pilot (14 CFR 135.269). A twelve-hour flight therefore needs at least three pilots, and Hong Kong to New York or Dubai to Los Angeles, both well over twelve hours at Mach 0.85, need four. Operators certified elsewhere follow the limits of their own authority.
The manufacturers plan for this. Gulfstream offers the G800 with four living areas, or three plus a dedicated crew compartment, so crew rest costs the passengers a room. The Global 8000 has a private crew suite at the entrance, and Dassault offers the Falcon 8X with a galley that includes a 78-inch lie-flat crew berth. On the 10X the pilot seats convert into full berths, which Dassault says anticipates rules that would let one of two pilots rest in flight.
How does Veltracon arrange a long-haul private flight?
Private jet charter is part of our travel service, and like every request it is handled as a mandate, carried by one partner. Flying somewhere on the same day only feels spontaneous when the aircraft, the crew, the slots and the ground transport were already understood; that preparation is the service. Charter pricing moves with empty legs, positioning and operator relationships, and knowing the market is what keeps the same aircraft from costing two different numbers. Whether to buy rather than charter is the subject of Buying a Private Jet, or Chartering One.

Straight answers.
Which private jet has the longest range in 2026?
Among purpose-built business jets in service, it is the Gulfstream G800, which Gulfstream rates at 8,200 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers, four crew and NBAA IFR reserves. The Bombardier Global 8000 follows at 8,000 nautical miles on the same basis. Widebody bizliners fly further: Airbus quotes 11,100 nautical miles for the ACJ350 with 25 passengers.
Can a private jet fly Hong Kong to New York non-stop?
On paper, yes. The great-circle distance from Hong Kong to New York JFK is about 7,003 nautical miles, without wind. On the manufacturers' figures, the Gulfstream G800, the Bombardier Global 8000 and the Gulfstream G700 exceed it by at least 10 per cent. The Global 7500 falls just short of that margin, and no narrowbody bizliner reaches it.
Can a private jet fly Dubai to Los Angeles non-stop?
On paper it can, but only just. The great-circle distance is about 7,235 nautical miles, and only the Gulfstream G800 and the Bombardier Global 8000 exceed it by 10 per cent or more. In October 2026 the shortest track crosses Iranian and western Russian airspace, which EASA advises operators under EU rules to avoid, so an operator following that advice flies a longer route.
Where does the Dassault Falcon 10X stand?
Dassault rolled out the first Falcon 10X on 10 March 2026 and flew it for the first time on 19 June 2026 from Bordeaux-Mérignac. That flight began a two-year certification programme. Dassault rates it at 7,500 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers.
What do published private jet ranges assume?
Gulfstream, Bombardier and Dassault quote theoretical ranges with eight passengers, four crew (three for the Falcon 8X), a cruise speed of Mach 0.85 (0.80 for the 8X) and NBAA IFR fuel reserves already deducted. Boeing draws its BBJ route maps with 50 per cent annual winds and an airways allowance. More passengers, higher speed and headwinds all reduce range.
How many pilots does a twelve-hour private flight need?
That depends on the operator's rules. Under the US rules for on-demand charter, two pilots may fly no more than 10 hours in 24, a three-pilot crew may be aloft for up to 12 hours and a four-pilot crew for up to 16, and the aircraft must carry adequate sleeping facilities for the relief pilot. Other authorities set their own limits.
